External evaluation of SAFE

The personal safety skills for deaf children programme

This concerns SAFE, which was developed by the NSPCC and which is an educational toolkit resource that specifically addressed the personal safety needs of deaf children within the broad spectrum of what we would now refer to as Safeguarding.

Five years after the launch of SAFE, the NSPCC commissioned us to carry out this evaluation for two principle reasons. Firstly to understand the uptake and impact of the SAFE pack and secondly as a means of providing information that would support the future strategic and operational planning for the NSPCC’s central role in the safeguarding of deaf and disabled children in the UK.

The project report was made available only to the funder NSPCC. It is not publicly available. It did influence the future safeguarding resources for deaf children provided by the NSPCC.
