Effective practice in education

Identifying effective practice in the provision of education and education support services for 16 – 19 year old deaf young people in Further Education in England

This research study was commissioned in 2012 by the National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS).

The aim of this research was to generate a better evidence-base concerning the quality and suitability of post-16 educational provision and educational support services for deaf young people on Further Education for 16-19 year olds. What options and services are available to deaf young people prior to starting FE, during FE and following FE, including personal/social development, and are they similar to or different from those for hearing young people?
