Tony Fitzpatrick, who completed the PGCE in Secondary Modern Foreign Languages in June 2021, shares with us his experience on studying at Manchester. Prior to becoming a classroom teacher, Tony worked in university outreach, HE and Careers Advice and guidance, and most recently as a Pastoral Leader for a Schools’ Trust in London. He has always been passionate about raising aspirations and improving the life chances of young people, and so completing a PGCE seemed to be the perfect next step to continue his career in education. Due to the first-rate education and support he received during the course, Tony is now working as a Spanish and French teacher at a secondary school in inner-city Manchester.
