What is the REMORA app?

The REMORA app enables patients to track and record RA symptoms on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

This information is included in the electronic health record at the local hospital, which can then be viewed by the health care professional during the consultation. This allows a patient to record the impact of their RA between hospital appointments.

It can be a challenge for a patient to answer the question “How have you been since your last visit?”, especially if there has been a long time between appointments. The REMORA app enables the health care professional to have a more accurate picture of any symptoms or flares that have been recorded by the patient at the time they occurred.

Can I use the REMORA app on more than one device?

Yes. You can download the REMORA app to more than one device. Your REMORAid must be linked with the same NHS login details.

If downloaded to multiple devices, the alerts will sound on all devices, but the diary entries will only be saved on the device used to record the information.

For the best user experience, we recommend you only download to one device, i.e., your phone OR tablet.

Can somebody help me if I have problems downloading or using the app?

Yes. Members of The University of Manchester study team are able to help you. You can email the study team at any time with questions or technical issues.

With the help of our patient partners, we have also made a series of instructional videos, which are available on the main Information for participants page.

What do the health care professionals already know about the REMORA app?

Health care professionals understand that it is hard for patients to recall all changes or severity of symptoms or flares when asked how they have been between hospital appointments.

The REMORA1 trial showed that health care professionals considered the app beneficial, as regular symptom reporting meant that they could more easily recognise changes in a patient’s condition that would otherwise have been missed. This led to changes in disease management.

Until now, the REMORA app has only been available to health care professionals at two hospitals in the Manchester region. This clinical trial will include up to 16 hospitals in the Greater Manchester and north-west London regions.
