An outbreak of SARS-CoV-2 in a public-facing office in England

by | Dec 11, 2023 | Theme 1: Outbreak investigations | 0 comments

Workplace outbreaks of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the virus that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), in public-facing offices have rarely been reported in the literature, despite workers’ proximity to members of the public.

The COVID-OUT study has previously reported investigations into outbreaks at two manufacturing sites. In this paper, published in the OUP Journal of Occupational Medicine, researchers from Theme 1 of the PROTECT NCS report an outbreak investigation of a cluster of SARS-CoV-2 cases at a public-facing office in England, UK.
