University life can be difficult sometimes especially in a new city, living with new people and attending a new University with new people on your course. If you need to talk to someone for advice or to talk about your feelings we have helplines you can use for free:-

- Greater Manchester Nightline (Term Time only 8pm – every night) – Number on the back of the student card)
Greater Manchester Nightline is a confidential listening and information service run for students by students. We offer anonymous, non-judgemental and non-directive support for all callers, regardless of the situation. You can talk about anything you like. As well as the listening service, Nightline can also provide information, such as contact numbers for a wide range of places. Just give Nightline a ring and ask – it’s as easy as that. - Disability Advisory and Support Service (DASS) – 0161 275 7512
Disabled students make up over 15% of University of Manchester students, and Dass proud to offer an accessible and inclusive servi ce.The Disability Advisory and Support Service (sometimes called the DASS) supports a variety of different people, whether students, staff or supporters. The University of Manchester Occupational Health Service provides confidential services to protect the health of students, assessing and advising on fitness for training and study, so as to ensure that health issues are effectively managed.
The University believes that all students should have the opportunity to access high-quality Occupational Health support for health issues which are a result of, or which affects, their study within the University.
