In the Independent, Prof Sheena Cruickshank says the combination of ventilation, physical distancing, and mask wearing has a “massive effect” on transmission of viruses. She adds that ceasing to encourage, support, and legislate these actions leaves us “at a real risk of increasing infections further”. The government has said it aims to end the majority of coronavirus restrictions by 19 July.
