What is Peer Mentoring and why is it important to SALC Students?

Peer Mentoring as a programme is designed to help you transition into University life and offers you specific help and guidance.

You will be given a Mentor who will meet with you regularly, providing advice particular to you and giving you an insight into the course from a higher year student’s perspective.

Your Mentors will be trained in providing support. They can arrange revision sessions, workshops with external speakers and can direct you to services within the University of Manchester so you can always find the help you need.

Benefits

Peer Mentoring isn’t just beneficial for the Mentee it provides an opportunity to improve many key skills, e.g confidence and communication, by sharing your experiences. Find out what Peer Mentors felt the benefits were to them by visiting the  Peer Support web page on My Manchester.
