Employability Workshop

Thursday, 27 February at 14:30-16:00 in room G16, The Martin Harris Centre 

This workshop will be broadly applicable to careers in the Arts and Culture Industries!

This workshop will discuss the strategies you can use to maximise those skills, and develop new ones, as you pursue your career in the arts and the cultural sector. Derek Chandruang, Vice President of Artist Management at IMG Artists in London, will lead it. Some topics will include

  • How to develop and apply topical knowledge within your chosen field and across the arts and cultural sector more broadly
  • How to develop and maintain lasting interpersonal relationships among your colleagues and stakeholders
  • The importance of self-awareness, self-presentation and self-preservation for career development
  • Solving problems creatively with a focussed, entrepreneurial, and sustainable approach.

Derek ChandryangDerek Chandruang holds degrees in Performing Arts Management from DePaul University and Ethnomusicology from Goldsmiths, University of London. He has represented artists such as Joshua Bell and Nicola Benedetti. Previously, he was the Artistic Coordinator of the Ravinia Festival in Chicago. In 2014, Derek co-founded the Cinematic Sinfonia, a new European orchestra dedicated to the performance of film music in concert.
