In September 2019 Uma Kothari and Alex Arnall met with the Maldivian Minister of Environment, Dr Hussain Rasheed Hassan, in Malé. During the meeting they discussed findings coming out of the Everyday Lives and Environmental Change project as well as plans for new research funded by the Australian Research Council on sea level rise. Uma, Alex and Dr Hassan talked about what the Government’s priorities are on climate change. They also discussed the links between coral, sand and island formation, and how ocean warming is effecting these processes in the Maldives.
