A fact sheet for social work professionals working in the Children’s Services (Manchester City Council)
In partnership with Manchester City Council, we have created a fact sheet for social work professionals working in Children’s Services when they receive referrals or work on a case that involves a Deaf BSL-using parent (or child). It includes a checklist and a list of bespoke services for signposting, and how to book a British Sign Language interpreter through the council’s own services. This is a significant step with the checklist to ensure that Deaf parents and families receive support. It is planned that the template will be rolled out to other Local Authorities across Greater Manchester.
