Join us on a ‘Walk for Women’ for International Women’s Day on Saturday, 7 March 2020. Manchester City Council will be hosting their third ‘Walk for Women’ as part of their International Women’s Day celebrations.

The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team would like to invite University staff and students to join the march through part of the city centre.

Walkers will meet at 12 PM in Cathedral Gardens before the walk starts at 12.30 PM. The route is fully accessible for wheelchair users, pushchairs and those with reduced mobility. At the end of the walk there will be a range of activities and performances to enjoy as well as information about health, employment, education, services and opportunities for Manchester women and girls.

Everyone is invited to take part – you don’t need to be a woman. Family and friends are very welcome, make sure you bring things to make lots of noise!

We will have a limited number of University of Manchester rosettes and placards available for those joining us too. If you would like to walk with colleagues from the university please sign up at The University of Manchester – Walks for Women

Contact Sarah Mohammad-Qureshi to receive additional details and ensure you are placed in our University group on the day.
