Getting to Know Me training pack and resources

For staff working with people with dementia in general hospitals.

The following resources were created through the Getting to Know Me training programme, a collaboration between The University of Manchester, Royal Bolton Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Greater Manchester West Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.

Manual for trainers (PDF) – Contains guidance for the delivery of the training, along with copyright information on the use and adaptation of materials.
Booklet for staff (PDF) – Helps staff understand what dementia is, and offers advice on caring for people with dementia in the hospital environment.
A5 card (PDF) – A card designed to be viewed by the bedside, containing some useful information about the person with dementia.
Mini card (PDF) – A small card containing ten tips to improve communication with a person who has dementia.
Evaluation form (PDF) – A form to collect feedback about the training session and materials.
