Departments & People

  • The School of Social Sciences is organised in eight departments (Criminology, Economics, Law, Philosophy, Politics, Social Anthropology, Social Statistic and Sociology).

  • We teach programmes at all levels: undergraduate (UG), postgraduate/master (PG) and PhD. In total, our student population counts more than 7000 students, skewed toward UG and with a significant proportion of international students.

  • We offer specialist programmes and multidisciplinary degrees. In our largest programme, the BA Economic and Social Studies (BAEcon) our students learn Economics while also engaging with the other social sciences offered in the School, and the accounting/finance module offered by the Business School. Students can engage with a variety of subjects also in our BA in Social Sciences (BASS) and BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE)
