A comparison of persistence of SARS-CoV-2 variants on stainless steel
This paper, published in the Journal of Hospital Infection and produced by researchers from Theme 4 of the PROTECT study, compares how well newer variants of the COVID-19 virus survive on surfaces to see whether this could play a role in their increased transmissibility. However, the results suggest that there is no significant difference in the persistence of the virus on steel surfaces among the variants tested.
