When the Nerds Go Marching In
Project lead Rachel Gibson’s most recent book ‘When the Nerds Go Marching in: How Digital Technology Moved from the Margins to the Mainstream of Political Campaigns’, is now available as hardback, paperback and Kindle eBook.
This book is about the effects of technology on campaigning and electoral participation. It is part of the Oxford Studies in Digital Politics series, and it provides cross-national comparative research on citizen campaigning and technology in elections. It offers an in-depth look into how citizen campaigning may revitalize public faith in democracy and the political process, but also how it may create a new political elite.
All in all, this book provides great background reading for those interested in these topics, and it is an example of the work that has inspired the DiCED project.
