DiCED’s first in-person workshop!
On the 8th and 9th of December, DiCED held its first in-person workshop in frosty and beautiful Manchester. The DiCED team was joined by project partners from abroad to discuss progress and brainstorm about ways to study the data obtained.
On the first day, the DiCED team gave an overview and update on the project: our study of digital campaigning and electoral democracy in five different nations, between 2020 and 2024: United States, Germany, France, Poland and the UK. We discussed the survey and social media datasets created and discussed publishing opportunities.
On the second day, we discussed data derived using APIs, data about the exposure to Facebook ads, and papers and datasets that are under development. We finished this day and the workshop by piloting the research design of focus groups to be run in several of the countries studied by DiCED.
We at DiCED are grateful for the comments and insights received and for the fantastic company, and we are looking forward to developing these ideas further in the new year, and in 2024!
