Description of graph: Main suicide methods by mental health patients in the UK and Jersey

Hanging/strangulation: Numbers were stable between 2012 and 2017, ranging between 820 and 755, but increased in 2018 and peaked at 937 in 2022.

Self-poisoning: Numbers decreased from 461 in 2012 to 331 in 2015, then increased to 401 in 2020, and fell to 315 in 2022.

Jumping/multiple injuries: Numbers peaked to 270 in 2013 but then fell to between 188 and 234 in 2014-2022.
