The data shows the number of mental health patients with a primary diagnosis of bipolar disorder who died by suicide in the UK and Jersey from 2012 to 2022, broken down by gender. The total number of deaths fell between 2012 and 2018 but since increased. The number of male patients with bipolar disorder fell to 57 in 2015 but has increased to 81 in 2022. The number of female patients fell from 80 in 2012 to 50 in 2017 but has increased to 69 in 2022.

Note: Male and female numbers in 2021 and 2022 do not total the overall figure due to rounding.
