The schools of SEED and SoSS have organised a week of events around the themes and tools of Digital Learning.

Meet the Team

Jonny Crook (Learning Technologist - SEED)

Jonny CrookI’m a Learning Technologist specifically supporting SEED.

I am the Service Area lead for ‘Extended Reality (XR) which covers virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality technology.

Recently we have been supporting academic colleagues in exploring and using this technology to support teaching and learning. I’ll be running two ‘hands-on’ sessions during the week where you can find out more about this technology and have a go with the equipment.

Helen Perkins (Learning Designer - SEED)

I’m a Learning Designer and work predominantly with SEED colleagues on new programmes, programme amendments and unit developments.

I support colleagues to consider the design of teaching, learning and assessment, as well as broader curriculum issues such as sustainability, employability and digital capabilities.

This week I’ll be facilitating 2 unit development workshops with my colleague Charlotte Warden. We’re also running online sessions for anyone who’d like to get some 1-1 advice on their units following on from the workshops. I look forward to meeting some of you over this week.

Charlotte Warden

I’m a Learning Designer working mainly with SoSS colleagues on new programmes, programme amendments and unit developments.

The learning design team work collaboratively with academic colleagues to support the design of teaching, learning and assessment at unit and programme level.

This includes exploration of broader curriculum elements such as Equality Diversity and Inclusion, Social Responsibility, Employability, Sustainability and Digital Capabilities.

For the Digital Focus Week, I’ll be facilitating two unit development workshops with my colleague Helen Perkins.

We’re also running online sessions for anyone who’d like to get some 1-1 advice on their units following on from the workshops.

Rachel Willder (Learning Technologist - SoSS)

Rachel WillderI’m a Learning Technologist for SoSS, and am the service area lead for online exams. I work closely with eLearning colleagues and PS staff to promote exam robustness and decrease academic malpractice.

I’ll be co-facilitating the Assessment Drop-In and eLearning Tools drop-in.

Jo Williams (eLearning Support Officer - SEED)

Jo WilliamsI am an eLearning Support Officer in SEED who has recently joined Humanities. 

I am involved in online exams/assessment, and will be co-facilitating the Alt Text Workshop, the Assessment Drop-In, and the Extended Reality ‘Show, Tell and Play’ sessions for Digital Focus week.

Janean Lancaster (eLearning Support Officer - SoSS)

Janean LancasterI am the eLearning Support Officer for SoSS. 

My service area is the maintaining the Humanities eLearning web/intranet sites. 

You’ll find me at Wednesday’s “Canvas Readiness” session, and I will also be co-facilitating Friday’s on-campus eLearning Drop-in.
